Poem A Day – April 2023

Yes… it’s been a while, I know. Sometimes life throws you curve balls, or drains your energy, or flips you upside down, points, and laughs. Some combination of those things happened to me. So my writing took a backseat of sorts. But I’m recommitting… thanks to the encouragement and support of a few dear friends. I thought a good way to start (maybe an easy way to start) would be to commit to the 2023 Poem a Day Challenge through Writer’s Digest. Maybe you’d like to join me??

  1. Great Read!
It’s great to see you’re recommitting to writing! Sometimes it can be difficult to find the motivation to write, but it’s always worth it. The 2023 Poem a Day Challenge sounds like an interesting challenge. Have you done this challenge before? What inspired you to do it this time around?

    1. Hi Dante. Thanks for the compliment AND the encouragement! Never done this challenge before. COVID and the years since made my “regular job” much more challenging and time consuming… so my writing fell off, sadly. What inspired me was a combo of a few things. Last September, a friend from another lifetime asked to include some of my poetry in an anthology she was editing/publishing. I was thrilled for that connection and the anthology is beautiful! Flash forward to a recent birthday and a weekend away… alone… at the shore… plus, it’s my annual “one month off of social media”. All of that and a recent incident with a person from my past lit a fire. Hoping that this is just the beginning… Peace.
